Online Obituaries for Lexington, KY Donald Don R. Tomlinson, 63, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Married 39yrs to Erin Tomlinson, he was born October 15, 1954 to the late James Tomlinson and Ruther Makepeace Gherardi in Lexington, Kentucky. A devoted husband and Army Veteran, Don was a very respectful man. He believed and practiced tough love, soft in the middle, and rough around the edges. Though he enjoyed playing chess and fishing, family was most important to him. In addition to his loving wife Erin, Don is survived by his mother, Ruth Gherardi; daughter, Heather (Anthony Shatlaw) Tomlinson, FL; sister, Karen (Leroy) Smith, Lexington; sister in law, Mary Tomlinson, Lexington; and grandchildren, Hayley Hippie, Ian Shatlaw, Haylie Campbell, and Sophia Harper. Don was preceded in death by his father, James Tomlinson; son, Joshua Tomlinson; and brother, Larry Tomlinson. Funeral Information No services are planned for Don at this time.
