Frank Elmore Horne, Sr.

Kingsport – Frank Elmore Horne, Sr., 85 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 14, 2018 at Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Appalachia, VA, he had lived in Kingsport since 1961. He was retired from Holliston Mills where he was a supervisor. Frank enjoyed golfing, UT football and Atlanta Braves baseball. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Frank is survived by his wife of 67 years, Wanola Owens Horne; daughter, Deborah Matthias and husband Tom; sons, Frank Horne, Jr. and wife Lori and John Horne; grandchildren, Megan, Matt, Ashleigh and Christina; great-grandchildren, Demetrius, Jade, William and Frankie; twin sister, Lena Graham; brother, Ralph Horne; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Monday, December 17, 2018 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. A funeral service will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Salley officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the American Legion Cemetery, Powell Valley Hwy (Hwy 610) in Big Stone Gap, VA.
