Lorayne "Laurie" Hall
March 21st, 1924 - June 16th, 2019
Lorayne “Laurie” Gunnerud Hall passed away on June 16, 2019 in Denver, Colorado at the age of 95. Laurie is survived by her children, Jane (Ron) of Arlington Texas, Susan (Pat) of Centennial Colorado and Scott (Beth) of Amesbury Massachusetts as well as seven grandchildren and two great granddaughters. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles J “Chuck” Hall and her son, Stephen Hall. Laurie was born in Silva North Dakota to Albert and Hazel Gunnerud. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science degree and became a pediatric nurse. Laurie and Chuck were married in September 1947. After moving to Rugby, North Dakota, the couple welcomed their four children into their home The couple also lived in Dallas, Texas and Littleton, Colorado. During this time Laurie worked as a nurse and medical office manager. After retirement, Laurie and Chuck made many good friends and had numerous travel adventures with the Airstream Club from Denver. They traveled throughout the United States and Canada with their trailer. They also spent 25 years in Surprise Arizona where Laurie participated in a variety of activities such as working in a food bank, gleaning fruit, making Nantucket baskets, playing bocce ball and entertaining friends. Laurie was an avid sports fan, attending Denver Bronco and Colorado Rockies games until she was 91. She supported all of the local sports teams and watched numerous other sporting events throughout her life. Over the last few years Laurie and Chuck lived at the Brookdale Senior Living Center in Denver where Laurie continued to play bridge, play bingo, and participate in many other activities. The family will have a private service for Laurie later this summer. Laurie will be interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to the Valley View Community Foodbank, 12321 NW Grand Ave, El Mirage, AZ 85335.
