Richard Dean Ratliff

RICHARD DEAN RATLIFF Kingsport- Richard Dean Ratliff, 58, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning (March 6, 2019). He was born in Pike County, Kentucky and had resided in Kingsport for the past 25 years. Richard loved NASCAR, enjoyed fishing, and especially watching football. Richard Ratliff was a loving son, father, grandfather, and brother. He attended Doran Addition Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Slone Ratliff and father, Elster Ratliff. Richard Dean Ratliff is survived by his loving mother, Patricia Stanley Ratliff; his sons, Josh Ratliff and wife, Melanie, Coby Ratliff and wife, Angel; his siblings, Diana Kiser and husband, Tom, Darrell Ratliff and wife, Shari, Debbie Woods and husband, Terry, Beverly Ward and husband, Jimmy, Stephen Ratliff and wife, Kim, Bruce Ratliff and wife, Kristi; his special loving mother-in-law, Ella Slone; 5 grandchildren, Charlotte, Elleigh, Jace, Matthew, Jake, and Heather along with several nieces and nephews. A private family service will be held on Friday (March 8, 2019) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport with Pastor Jerry Stout. Music will be provided by Kevin Wilson. A graveside service will be held on Saturday (March 9, 2019) at 1 p.m. at the Ratliff-Childress Cemetery in Elkhorn City, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be his brothers and brothers-in-law, Stephen Ratliff, Bruce Ratliff, Tom Kiser, Jim Ward along with his nephews, Zach, Alex, and Isaac Ratliff. Darrell Ratliff will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Ratliff family.
