Susan Baak

Susan, 70, of Centennial, passed away unexpectedly on November 14, 2017. The eldest of five children born to Carter and Peggy Wild, of Huntington, WV, she attended Huntington High School and graduated valedictorian. After receiving her college degree from Wittenberg University in Ohio, she moved to Denver, CO, in the summer of 1969, where she met her husband, Arlyn, that same year. In the years to follow, her job titles included social worker, full‑time parent, preschool teacher, and registrar at the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Social Work. The common thread to them all was a devotion to doing the job well and a deep-rooted faith in helping others. She was also a loyal Denver Broncos fan, a lover of Christmastime and family beach vacations, and a longtime active member of Wellshire Presbyterian Church. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by Arlyn, her husband of 46 years; three children, Julie Seibert (Jason), Andrew Baak (Jen), and Brian Baak (Jeanne); seven grandchildren, Anna, Garrett, Lauren, Katie, Colin, Connor, and Zachary; one sister, Nancy Hastings; and three brothers, Alan Wild, Marc Wild, and Paul Wild. A memorial service will be held at Wellshire Presbyterian Church on Sat., Dec. 2, at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Susan may be made to Wellshire Presbyterian Church, 2999 S.
