Carter-Trent Funeral Homes - Kingsport
Sandra Kay Bellamy
February 9th, 1948 - November 4th, 2019
After a long illness, Sandy Bellamy, 71, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, November 4, surrounded by those she loved and who so dearly loved her. Sandy was so much to so many, a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother, great-grandmother and proprietor of Attitudes Salon. Sandy’s greatest joy came from spending time with her close friends and family who will remember her as the life of the party who lit up any room with her quick wit, warm laugh, wide smile and welcoming hugs. She bravely fought cancer, but she never let it define or diminish her. If anything, it emboldened her to live a life well lived. From her first battle against breast cancer to her last battle against lung cancer, she never lost her positive and grateful spirit. As the disease slowly took her health, it did not take her smile, her hope, or her undying love of others. She fought the ugliest of diseases with the most beautiful grace and in doing so, she inspires us all. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruby Dickens. Survivors include her loving husband and companion of 30 years, Donald Bellamy; sons, Stacy Gray and wife Pam, Scott Gray and wife Jeni; daughters, Sonya Grubb and husband Tommy, Jennifer Bogni and husband Fabio; grandchildren, Emily Stevens and husband Josh, Christian Gray, Nestor Grubb, Ashlyn Gray, Nik Gray, Katie Gray, Aly Bogni, and J.C. Gray; great-grandchild, Kayson Stevens; sister, Martha Williams; special cousin, Jimmie Jean Dougherty; along with a host of friends and extended family. The family will receive friends from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport. A celebration of life service will follow with Pastor Craig Cottingim officiating. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Christine Waters, Amanda with Amedysis Hospice, for their loving care. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contribution be made to the American Cancer Society. Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport is serving the Bellamy family.
