Betty Susan Ball Gray
October 24th, 1942 - December 6th, 2019
Betty Susan Ball Gray 77, of Kingsport passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019 after an extended battle with Heart Disease. She was born in Rogersville, TN to the late Woodrow and Esther Ball throughout her life she was known as a strong willed, smart, and kind hearted person. Betty was a graduate of Ketron High School. She worked at First American Bank from 1973 to 1983 before going on to retire from Air Products. Betty loved spending time with her family especially traveling with her husband. She was a beautiful lady inside and out who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry L. Ball. Survivors include her loving husband and companion of 33 years, Stuart C. Gray; daughter, Penelope “Penny” Lane Pavitt and husband Robert; grandsons, Patrick C. Jones and Timothy K. Jones; step-children, Stacy A. Gray and wife Pam, Scott C. Gray and wife Jeni, Sonya L. Grubb and husband Tommy; step-grandchildren, Emily Stevens and husband Josh, Christian Gray, Nestor Grubb, Ashlyn Gray, Nik Gray, Katie Gray, and JC Gray; nieces, Michelle Ball and Melissa Ball-Martin; along with a host of friends and extended family. The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport. A funeral service will follow with Rev. Jack Edwards officiating. Music will be provided by Mike and Rodney Lane. A graveside service will be conducted at 1pm on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Mountain Home National Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association at 187 S Goose Hill Rd, Rocky Face, GA 30740. Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport is serving the Gray family.
