Online Obituaries for Versailles KY VERSAILLES- Dempsie Cress, 66, husband of Joanne Flora Cress, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016. He was born in Harlan County, KY to the late Marsh and Chloe Hall Cress on August 8, 1949. Mr. Cress retired from Osram Sylvania, a United States Army Veteran and a Kentucky Colonel. He was also a member of Midway Church of the Nazarene. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Marcus (Amy) Cress, Jeff (Christy) Cress and Steve (Alissa) Cress, all of Versailles; his grandchildren, Rachel Cress, Kerry Cress, Emma Cress, Stephen Cress, Kayleigh Cress, Riley Cress, Bailey Cress, Andrew Kartner, and Alexis Kartner, all of Versailles; and his great grandchild, Reese Hannabach, Versailles. He is preceded in death by his sister, Francis Bailey and his brothers, Lester Cress and Pearl Cress. Funeral Information Funeral service will be 2pm Monday, July 11, 2016 at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill officiated by Brother Gary Maynard. Burial will follow in Rose Crest Cemetery. Serving as casketbearers will be Justin Brown, Josh Hannabach, Jason Lewis, Gene Owens, Obie Barber, Stephen Cress, Danny Owens and James Crawford. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-7pm at the funeral home.
