Sarita "Rita" Hieger
September 20th, 1918 - May 5th, 2017
Lexington, KY Sarita A. Rita Hieger, 98, died May 5, 2017. She is survived by her sons Eugene (Joyce) Hieger of Lexington and Rodney (Joanne) Hieger of Florida; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Eugene Hieger, Sr.; son Lawrence Hieger; brother Bennie Ferlisi and parents Giovanni and Lena Ferlisi. Rita was a lovely Italian lady who never lost her New York accent. She was a great cook in her younger years. A good day for Rita was visiting with family and friends where she was always laughing and was the center of attention. Her favorite saying was, Someday my banana boat will come in. Rita was a woman of many loves; including her family, her church and her savior. Rita is home, and it is more beautiful with her there. Funeral Information There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends from 11-1PM, Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Clark Legacy Center in Brannon Crossing, followed by a Celebration of her life beginning at 1PM. Burial will be at Bluegrass Memorial Garden at 2PM that day.
