Obituary Marvin Thompson, 60, of Lexington, Kentucky, entered Heaven's Gates Friday, March 29, 2013. He was born in Lexington, Kentucky to the late Grant and Edna Thompson. He is survived by his daughter, Jodi Thompson; son, Timmy Thompson; step-sons, Bryan Fife and Michael Lankford; former wife, Stephanie Thompson; granddaughter, Samantha Thompson; grandsons, Zakary and Dylan Tudor; brother-in-law, Lonnie Hurley; aunts, Jeanie Thompson, Dorothy Thompson, Jewell Smith, Hazel Hamilton; and many other close friends and family. Marvin retired from IBM and was currently employed as a driver with "Above All Charters." He was also a painting contractor and owned "Coat of Many Colors." He was a member of Southland Christian Church where he participated in their music ministry. He also participated with Jessamine Christian Church's music ministry, The Jesus Prom, Make Us One Sunday School Class, Sweet Blessings, Church Under the Bridge, Ichthus, Bluegrass IronMen, Room in the Inn and Refuge for Women. In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his sister, Darlene Hurley. Funeral Information Visitation will be 4-6 pm, Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at The Heritage Baptist Church located at 163 N Ashland Ave, Lexington, Kentucky, followed by a Memorial Service at 6 pm.
