Obituary Helen M. Satterly York Slone, wife of Charles Slone, Lexington, went to be with the Lord on Wed, Aug 12, after a long battle with cancer. Born Jan 13, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Corinne Donovan Satterly. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 42 years, Robert York. She is survived by her stepmother Ethel Satterly, Lex; her children, Debra Sudduth (Norton), Frankfort; Marty and Teddy York, Lex; Denise York (Bill King), Lex; Jeff York, Cynthiana; four grandchildren, Brian and Jason Sudduth, Frankfort; Chris York, Idaho; Kayla York, Somerset; two step daughters, Michele Wynn, IN; Elizabeth Slone, Lex; two step grandsons, Ben Saunders, IN; Nick Francis, Lex; seven great grandchildren; her sister, Juanita (Roy) Wells, Memphis, TN; and several sisters and brothers-in-law. Helen was a loving wife, mother and dedicated Christian. She worked at Essex International in Georgetown for 18 years and also for Shelter Insurance in Cynthiana. Recently she worked for Wagner Industry and Keeneland Race Track, which was a job she loved. She was a past Lady Elks Club president in Cynthiana. She is a member of Tates Creek Christian Church in Lex, where she was a member of Christian in Action (previously Builders Sunday School Class, SACC). Funeral Information Visitation, Thursday, Aug 13, 6-8 pm at Clark Legacy Center. Funeral Service, Friday, Aug 14, 11 am, with Rev. Tommy Simpson officiating. Burial will follow at Battle Grove Cemetery.
