Lexington, Kentucky Andrew K. Merkel, 87, husband of Frieda Kraker Merkel, died Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born February 25, 1928 to Ernst Otto and Ottilie Breunig Merkel in Bamberg, Germany. He is survived by his wife, Frieda; daughter, Heide Merkel; son, Roland (Joni) Merkel and two grandchildren, Christian Merkel and Patrick Merkel. Funeral Information Services will be held at a later date.
