Mr. John W. Baker, 90 of Boulder, Colorado received his last orders to join God’s forces on Memorial Day, May 30, 2011. He was born on May 1, 1921 in Midwest City, Oklahoma, son of the late Fleming C. Baker and Mable Cox. Retired Master Sergeant Baker was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and a survivor of Pearl Harbor. His 30 years of service included the Battle of Midway, Guadalcanal, Berlin Airlift, the Korean War and time spent in the National Guard and the Reserve. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Stamenka (Mickey) from Belgrade, Yugoslavia. They were married in Erlangen, Germany March 21, 1947, sons; John Baker of Atlanta Ga; Wesley Baker of Parker Co; Frank Baker of Pahoa Hi; Mark Baker of Charlotte Nc and six grandchildren. Interment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Special thanks to the staff of Colorado State Veterans Nursing Home in Walsenburg Co. for taking care of our father and all the other veterans, we are forever grateful.
