Obituary John Reid Bowen, Jr., 77, of Berea, Kentucky and husband of Carolyn H. Bowen, died Monday, March 11, 2013 in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born October 1, 1935 in Miami, Florida to the late Dorothy Grace and John R. Bowen, Sr. John served in the US Marine Corps and was a retired mechanical engineer for the Blue Grass Army Depot. In addition to his wife, John is survived by his son, John R. (Shamae) Bowen, III of Rexburg, Idaho; daughters, Nancy (Cody) Gibson and Rebecca Taulbee, both of Statesville, North Carolina; brother, Timothy (Lee) Bowen of Harlington, Texas; sister, Pamela Grace Simpson of Kodiak, Alaska; nine grandchildren, Amanda Gibson (Richie) Dillard, Justin Gibson, Ryan Gibson, Trevor (Shaylise) Bowen, Jade Bowen, Seth Bowen, Taylor Bowen, Lindsey Taulbee and Hunter Page Taulbee; and four great grandchildren.
