Obituary Lexington - Joseph Bennett (Ben) Roop, 53 of Austin, TX, died Sunday, November 25, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Roop and daughter, Nikki Roop of Austin, TX and son Nathaniel Roop, of Louisville, KY; his first wife Cathy Tobin, Burlington, KY; sister, Stephanie McCracken, Nicholasville, KY and many extended family members. He was the son of Barbara Horine, Nicholasville, KY and the late James Bennett Roop, Paint Lick, KY. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Jesse and Virginia Locker. He graduated from Tates Creek High School and attended the University of Kentucky. Ben had a passion for sports, especially UK basketball , the Dallas Cowboys and golf. He had become active in politics in recent years. He will be loved and missed by many family and friends. A Memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, December 1st from 1-3:00 p.m. at Clark Legacy Center ,Brannon Crossing .
