Online Obituaries for Frankfort KY Cora Purvis Perkins Bobbitt, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 1, 2017. She was born in Frankfort, KY on May 13, 1937 to the late Johnny and Pauline Purvis. Cora was a loving mother who dedicated her life to taking care of family and friends. She truly had a servants heart. Cora is survived by her son, Larry Perkins; daughter, Angie (Kenny) Blackwell; 5 step sons, Tom Bobbitt, Jim Bobbitt, Mike Bobbitt, Steve Bobbitt, and Bryan Bobbitt; sisters, Elizabeth Lewis, and Mary Belle Lanthrum; brother, Harold (Barbara) Purvis; 6 grandchildren, River Perkins, April Perkins, Chris Perkins, Sarah Blackwell, Rebecca Blackwell, and Rachel Blackwell; and 2 great grandchildren Hailie and Cydnie Perkins. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Edward Bobbitt and Wilson Perkins Jr; her sister, Helen Howard; and her brothers, Ennins Purvis and Tommy Purvis. Cora faithfully attended Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church. She retired from Bendix and cleaned houses for the people she considered family. Cora loved children, her church family at Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church, and her Joy Sunday School Class. Funeral Information A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church. A visitation will begin at 9:00am with the service following. Rev. Todd Lester, Larry Perkins, and Bill Adcock will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be her 1955 Peaks Mill High School Class and the Joy Sunday School Class.
