Yolanda Jassir-Johnson of Golden, died March 2, 2012. She was 76. She was born June 8, 1935 in Armero, Colombia to David and Mercedes Jassir. In mid-1973, Yolanda came to Denver to visit family and friends and was then introduced to Robert Johnson. They married the following August 1973. It was a match made in heaven and their lives revolved around each other solely. Yolanda worked for Coors’ Ceramics for over 20 years. Upon retirement in June 1999, she and Robert travelled extensively throughout all of Europe, Israel, the British Isles, and made frequent trips to Bogota, Colombia. She was preceded in death by her parents and an older brother, Salvador. She is survived by her husband (Robert), two step-daughters (Rebecca and Elizabeth), an older sister (Leila, Bogota, Colombia), an older brother (Raul Jassir, West Palm Beach, FL), a younger brother (Dr. Carlos Jassir, Orlando, FL), and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Plans for a small memorial service are pending. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
