Charles "Steve" Western

Obituary Charles "Steve" Western, 84, long time resident of Lexington, Kentucky, died Tuesday, January 10, 2012 in Chicago, Illinois. He was born June 30, 1927 in Jeannette, Pennsylvania to the late William and Anna Western. Steve served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was the Owner of Western Chemical and a Member of the Optimist Club and Moose Club. He is survived by two daughters, Liz (Doug Yaw) Brantley of Lexington, Kentucky and June (Pete) de Castro of Glenview, Illinois; son, Michael Western of Sadieville, Kentucky; sister, Stella Western of Cleveland, Ohio; brother, Pete Western of Cleveland, Ohio; and his grandchildren, April (Al) Sirca of Chardon, Ohio; Rikki Lee Ratliff of Toronto, Canada; Michael Ratliff of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Rafferty Brantley of Lexington, Kentucky; Michael W. Western of Lexington, Kentucky and Ashley de Castro of Glenview, Illinois; niece, Susan Western of Cleveland, Ohio; nephews, John Western of San Francisco, California and Peter (Vera) Western of Chapmanville, West Virginia. In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his son, Steve Western II; his brothers, Tom Western, Joe Western and Mike Western; and by his sister, Mary Western. Funeral Information A Gathering of Family and Friends will be 1-4 pm, Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Clark Legacy Center, followed by a Memorial Service at 4 pm.
