Donald G Ulberg
February 6th, 1951 - May 16th, 2020
Donald G. Ulberg was born in Seattle, Washington, and passed away on May 16, 2020, due to complications from lymphoma. Don graduated from Shoreline High School in 1969 and then attended Everett Community College. He moved to San Francisco and later to Ukiah, California, before returning to the Pacific Northwest in the early 1980’s. Don enjoyed playing drums and guitar, photography and oil painting in his spare time. He received job training from his brother, Bob, and worked for many years as an electrical technician, eventually becoming a fiber optic cable installer. Don was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and recently received his 30-year pin. Don was an avid salmon fisherman and spent countless hours in his Sea Sport boat on Puget Sound. He lived in Edmonds for approximately 30 years. A few years after retiring at age 62, Don moved to Arlington, Washington, where he enjoyed gardening and peaceful days living on five acres with his chickens and cats. Don’s family is grateful to the care provided by Evergreen Health Hospice during his final weeks. Don is survived by his brother, Robert Ulberg of Tigard, OR. and his sister, Anne (Alan) Compaan of Edmonds, WA, niece Brandi (Mike) Manion and nephew Brett (Jennifer) Ulberg; grand nieces Ashley, Olivia and Macie Ulberg, and grand nephew Chandler Roetemeyer (Karlee). Don was preceded in death by his father and mother, Daniel and Viola Ulberg. Don requested cremation and no memorial service. Family and friends will gather at a later date to honor Don’s final wish to have his ashes spread on the waters of Puget Sound.
