Carol Ann (Bell) Connors passed away early on May 6, 2021 at her home in Shoreline; she was 85 years old. A perpetually kind and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all she met, Mom will be dearly missed. Knowing that she has gone on to be together in Heaven with Dan, her husband of 46 years, is such a comfort to her friends and family. Carol was born in Wenatchee, Washington, to Don and Anna Bell on November 14, 1935. The trio later moved to Everett, Washington, where Carol graduated from Everett High School in 1953. She went on to study at Everett Junior College before receiving her B.S.N. in Nursing from Seattle University in 1961. Carol loved being a part of the Everett community – she kept life-long friendships with her “sisters” from Everett High, and she represented her city as Miss Everett at several Seafair events. Throughout her life, Carol used her time and talents to serve others. As a registered nurse, one of Carol’s favorite roles was working as a stewardess nurse on the Seattle-Chicago route with the Northern Pacific Railroad. She also worked in several clinics and hospitals in the Puget Sound area, including Northgate General Hospital and The Shoreline Clinic in Lake City. Carol loved music, and she shared her musical talents with so many organizations, including St. Matthew Church and School, WWCCR, the King County Jail, the Josephinum and Holyrood Cemetery. She and Dan served their fellow parish members and visitors in so many ways during their years at St. Matthew Parish in North Seattle. Mom loved to sing and play piano with the choir at Mass, and she taught music to the students at St. Matthew School for many years while her children attended school there. Carol’s family was her greatest passion. She and Dan put so much love and care into raising their family in the Bothell and North Seattle communities. Carol will be missed by many people who knew and loved her, especially her five children: Margaret (Jerry) Leith, John Connors, Paul (Lisa) Connors, Monica Connors, and Maria (Eric) Olson. “Nana” loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren ever so much. Andie, JD, Hayley, Evan, Kenny, Charlie, Brody, Will, Joe, Annabelle, and Kay will never run out of fun stories to tell about their adventures with Nana through the years. A Rosary for Carol will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church in North Seattle at 10:30AM on Wednesday, May 26, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM. Mom always gave from the heart, and she supported so many organizations with her time and money over the years. In lieu of flowers, it would be an honor to have donations made in Carol’s name to any of these organizations in particular: Providence Hospice of Seattle, Seattle Humane Society, Mercy Corps, and St. Matthew School. There aren’t enough words to capture all that Carol meant to those who knew and loved her. Carol greeted everyone she met – strangers, family and friends – with a friendly hello and the warmest smile. How wonderful would it be to continue spreading such warmth with others in our own lives! It would make her so happy to know that others are continuing to share the love that meant so much to her. We love you, Mom!
