Online Obituaries for Lexington, KY Carolyn Sue Bealmear Rhodemyre, 93, passed away June 17, 2017 in Lexington, Kentucky. Born October 29, 1923 in Marion, Kentucky, she was the daughter of F.O. and Byrde Maria Bealmear. She graduated from Marion High School and attended the University of Kentucky where she met and married Jay Edsel Rhodemyre (deceased), a star football player for Bear Bryants Wildcats at UK. Football travels took the couple to Chicago, Illinois for the 1948 College All Stars game, and later to Green Bay where Jay Rhodemyre played for the Green Bay Packers for four seasons. Carolyn retired in 1988 from the Veterans Administration Hospital where she worked for over 20 years. Carolyn enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lexington. Preceded in death by sister, Doris Frasher and Joann Webb, her survivors include her daughter, Susan (David) Willmot; grandsons, Jay and Gregory; her son Jay; her sister Kathleen (Tommy) Porter; sister in law Betty Carol Keeton; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews. Funeral Information Services will be private.
