Online Obituaries for Lexington, KY Frank Craig Carpenter, 89, passed away November 17, 2017. He was born April 5, 1928 to the late Clarence and Gladys Craig Carpenter in Pontiac, Michigan. Frank served his country as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United State Army, and retired from the Army Reserve. Frank was an accomplished photographer and enjoyed his family, traveling, cooking, hunting, fishing, and archaeology. Frank is survived by his daughters, Sylvia (John) Phillips and Cynthia Carpenter; son, Bruce Martin Carpenter; stepsons, David Wood and Robert Wood; sister, Judy Alder; brothers, Randy Carpenter, Dr. William Hobbs, and Dr. John Hobbs; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wives, Hedwig Carpenter and Colleen Carpenter. Funeral Information There will be a Celebration of Life Service at Clark Legacy Center, 601 E. Brannon Rd. Nicholasville, KY on Monday, November, 27th at 11a with a Gathering of Family and Friends from 9:30a-11a prior to service. Burial will be at Camp Nelson immediately following the service.
