Barbara "Bobbye" J Soard

Online Obituaries for Lexington, Frankfort, and Versailles KY Barbara "Bobbye" Soard, 81, "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." (2 Cor. 5:8) became a joyous reality for Bobbye on September 3, 2013. Born in Buena Vista, KY, she was predeceased by loving parents, Logan Hampton Scott and Stella Brown Scott; daughter, Tina Michelle Soard; brother, Bill Scott; sisters, Helen Hollopeter, Doris Montgomery, Shirley Hulett and Margie Broadus; and father of her children, Wallace D. Soard. She attended Asbury College and graduated from Fugazzi Business College in 1956, at which time she became a secretary at IBM until quitting to raise her children. She later worked for several years as a realtor. Her greatest enjoyment was time spent with her Lord and her family, reading, playing tennis and walking. She is survived by the loves of her life, son, Eric (Laura) Soard; daughter, Paige (Michael) Bales; 5 beloved and cherished grandchildren, Hannah, Jacob and Lucas Soard and Kaitlin and Cameron Bales; sister, Gladys Guy; numerous nieces and nephews, friends and a special cousin, Joann Crowe. A special thanks to the Hospice Green Team, especially Linda Cordingly. Funeral Information A Gathering of Family and Friends will be Friday, September 6, 2013 from 4:30PM until 7:00PM at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing. A celebration of Life Service for Bobbye will immediately follow.
