Obituary Bernice Smart Maner, 83, wife of Joseph L. Maner, died Wednesday, September 5, 2012. She was born in Paris, Kentucky on May 22, 1929 to the late Roy Benton and Gertrude Booth Smart. Bernice was a retired teacher from Fayette County School System, where most of her career was spent at Deep Springs Elementary School. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Bernice "Bunny" (Kevin) Sornson, Ernestine (Bailey) Arnold, both of Lexington, Kentucky and Harriet (Steven) Key of Coon Rapids, MInnesota; six grandchildren, Michael and David Eades, Bailey Michelle and Joseph Arnold, Christy Key Sturlaugson and Craig Key; four great-grandsons; and one sister, Mildred Baber of Paris, Kentucky. Bernice was preceded in death by her brother, Calvin Smart. Funeral Information A Gathering of Family and Friends will be 4-7 pm, Monday, Sept 10, 2012 at Clark Legacy Center in Brannon Crossing, with a time of sharing beginning at 6:30 pm. A Graveside Service will take place at 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, Kentucky.
