Online Obituaries for Frankfort, KY FRANKFORT- Louise Poe Bates, 96, widow of James Ralph Bates, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2016. A native of Franklin County, she was born to the late Jess and Maggie Bailey Poe. Mrs. Bates retired from the State of Kentucky working for the Kentucky Teachers Retirement System. She was a member of the Swallowfield Baptist Church, as well as the Random Homemakers and the Garden Club of Frankfort. Mrs. Bates was a highly skilled seamstress and an excellent flower gardener, having knowledge of the plants and their history and benefits. She is survived by her daughter, Jan Bates Frazee, TN; her son, Jim Bates, FL; 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Bates Sheets, her grandson Landon Bates and her sister, Anna Bessie Poe Wooldridge. Funeral Information Funeral Service will be 11am Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. Burial will follow in Frankfort Cemetery. Serving as casketbearers will be Roger Frazee, Sam Frazee, Jeff Sheets, Jordan Sherrow, Jamason Sherrow and Jeremy Wooldridge. Honorary Casketbearers will be Louise Quarles, Jennifer House, Crystal Hollon, Scotty and Irene Sams, Flora Wilhoite and Debbie West.
