April 17th, 1954 - February 17th, 2017
Lexington, KY Clay Carey, 62, died February 17, 2017. He is survived by his daughters Leila (Nathan) Speck, Cassidy Carey and Robin Carey; sisters Violet (Tom) Jones, Velvet Capley and Joy Hoverman; brother Bruce (Cathy) Carey, 3 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. He is preceded in death by his parents William and Dolores (Childers) Carey and sons Michael Carey and Matthew Carey. Clay had been a member at East Hickman Baptist Church. He was an avid fan of his beloved UK Wildcats. He loved to spend time watching action movies and cooking out with his family. Clay was a kind-hearted man who would give you the shirt off his back if it was needed. He had a great sense of humor and could give it out as well as take it. His favorite times were spent with his family, enjoying the company of his daughters and grandchildren. Also the family offers a special thank you to Lena Courtney-Reed for her love and devotion. Funeral Information There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends from5-7PM, Tuesday, February 21, 2017 followed by a Celebration of Clays life at 7PM officiated by Brandon Ragland at Clark Legacy Center in Brannon Crossing.
