Polly Milton was born September 22, 1916 in Chehalis, Washington and died February 13, 2010 in her home, surrounded by her loving family.Polly, a positive can do woman, brought inspiration, goodwill, deep kindness and empathy to the many people she met during her long, happy and productive life. Her life was characterized by her entrepreneurial adventuresome spirit. A highlight of her week was walking the Shoreline track with her husband and many friends.During WWII, she was a Red Cross volunteer and a smiling waitress at the landmark Twin Teepee Restaurant. After the war, she opened one of the first Laundromats in the Seattle area.In the 1970s, she started PM Enterprises to design and produce quilted uniforms for auto racers, hydroplane racers and costumes for entertainers. Her quilts and patchwork animals and clothing were featured at Crazy Quilt in Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco, Saks fifth Avenue and Nieman Marcus stores. She was always ready to provide time, love and care to the young and old. In her later, declining years, many of her friends provided unflagging support and care. She is deeply missed by her devoted husband of 64 years, Ora Bernie Milton, daughter Virginia Fink, niece Mary Gage, nephews and nieces, Bill and Jim Halley, Tyrone, Marty, David, Peggy Milton and Penny Schlimper and Jimmy Clifton, brothers-in-law Bill and Bob Milton, sister-in-law Shirley Clifton and many friends, including Roger Briggs, Diane Crouse, Virginia and George Peterson and Betty Winters. All offered limitless and loving assistance in her later years. At Pollys request, there will be no funeral services. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer society, Hospice or any cause or charity of your choice.
