Ruth Reynolds Waddle
July 28th, 1932 - August 25th, 2012
Obituary Ruth Reynolds Waddle, 80, of Frankfort, passed away on August 25, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Vernon L. and Dora R. Reynolds and was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Ralph Richard Waddle, Sr. Mrs. Waddle was a member of Crestwood Baptist Church for 52 years, where she taught children's Sunday School for many years and was a longtime member of the Alpha Sunday School Class. Additionally, Mrs. Waddle was active in the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Frankfort Chapter, and the Ladies' Nine-Hole golf group at the Frankfort Country Club. Mrs. Waddle graduated from Wayne County High School, Monticello, KY and Spencerian Business College of Louisville, KY. She began her career as a secretary with the Department of Highways in district offices in Somerset and Jackson, KY, for 3 years before leaving to become a full-time homemaker and mother for the next 12 years. She returned to work with the Selective Service System state office in Frankfort for 8 years. When the state office was dissolved and moved to Atlanta, GA, Mrs. Waddle was employed for 5 years at the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce as Administrative Assistant. After retirement, she did court reporting for Toole and Associates on a part-time basis. She is survived by two daughters, Cheri (Alex) Whitenack and Marcia (John) Brawner, two sons, Ralph Richard (Rick) Jr. (Jackie) Waddle and Steven (Jocelyne) Waddle, nine grandchildren, Jena (Jason) Camden, Trey Waddle, Kyle Whitenack, Nicholas Brawner, Natalie Waddle, Amy Whitenack, Paige Waddle, Rebecca Waddle and Jamie Waddle, two great-grandsons, Jayden Camden and Jonah Camden, four step-grandchildren, Todd Smither, Claudia Gonzales, Mark and Mary Dameron, one sister, Emogene Jones of Sanford, FL, one brother Robert (Bea) Reynolds of Austin, TX, and many beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Violet Reynolds and a brother, Ray Reynolds. Funeral Information Services will be held at Crestwood Baptist Church, 1006 East Main Street, Frankfort, Kentucky on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Wallace Kent officiating assisted by Dr. Mike Hail and under the direction of Clark Legacy Center. Visitation is from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Graveside services will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Bearers will be grandsons Todd Smither, Trey Waddle, Kyle Whitenack, Nicholas Brawner, Jamie Waddle, son-in-law Jason Camden, and Peter Goodman and Sam McWilliams. Honorary bearers will be the members of the Alpha Sunday School Class, Jim and Betty Sublett, Sue and Bob Flener and Glen and Barbara Bottoms.
