William Edgar "Ed" Napier

Obituary William Edgar "Ed" Napier, 63, of Versailles, husband of Janet Sparrow Napier, died Friday, March 19, 2010 at St. Joseph Hospice Care Center. He was born October 17, 1946, in Clark County, Kentucky to Ella Marie Maddox and the late Thee Edgar Napier. Mr. Napier was a retired detective for The Lexington Police Department and a veteran of the US Air Force, having served in Korea during the Vietnam era. He also attended Versailles Presbyterian Church, was a graduate of Lafayette High School and Eastern Kentucky University Criminal Justice Program. Mr. Napier was an owner, trainer, and driver for Standard Bred Horses for over 20 years, the president of the Kentucky Colt Association and Executive Secretary of Kentucky Harness Horseman's Association. In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by his sons, Tim (Kristie) Napier, Louisville; Brian Napier, Frankfort; Chris (Rhonda) Napier, Lawrenceburg; sister, Fawn Reed, OH; brother, Robert "Rusty" Burns, Nicholasville; and grandchildren, Mackenzie, Reagan, Dalton, Luke, Aaron, Emma, and Annie. Funeral Information Visitation will be 4-8 pm, Tuesday, March 23, at Clark Legacy Center in Brannon Crossing. Funeral Service will be 11 am, Wednesday, March 24, also at Clark Legacy Center, officiated by Rev. Melissa Sevier. Entombment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Casket bearers: Randal Bohannon, Steve Boyd, Kent Queen, Terry Blankenship, Jerry Haws, Robert Stewart and Dennis England.
