James Anthony Goff

Obituary James Anthony Goff, 49, passed away peacefully after an extended illness on 26 March 2013, at University of Kentucky Medical Center, in Lexington, surrounded by his family. Jim was born 20 April, 1963 in Owensboro, the youngest child of the late William T. Goff, Sr. and the late Ida M. Vance Barr Goff. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his Paternal Grandparents, Leander I. Goff and Mamie P. Shaney Goff; Maternal Grandparents, Jake Vance and Ann M. Vance Lashbrook; nephews Kevin W. Kinley, Sean A. Kinley and four infant siblings. He is survived by his children, a son, James Garrett Goff of Lexington, and daughter, Haley Kathleen Goff of Murray; eight siblings, William T. Goff, Jr. of Tupelo, MS, Loretta Fay Kinley (Kirk) of Fredericksburg, TX, William G. Barr III (Carrie), Paul J. Barr, Marifaith N. Barr, all of Lexington, Mary Susann Hamilton (Gerry) of Batavia, OH, Evelyn Mae Kramer (Stan) of Versailles, Charles J. Barr (Diane) of Cincinnati, OH; nieces, Tara Allen, Tracey Kinley, Amber Barr, Margaret Barr, Jennifer Loving, Rhiannon Marques, Kirsten Carey, Brittany Huter; nephews, William G.Barr IV, Trey Kramer III, Brian J. Barr. He is also survived by 9 great nephews and great nieces; and numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Jim graduated from S.S. Joseph Paul elementary school, and Owensboro Senior High School. He also attended Owensboro Technical School. He was a finish carpenter by trade and worked for various companies in both Owensboro and Lexington in his profession. Jim was also an accomplished musician and country western vocalist, and performed with his father and uncles in their band before his father's death and also had his own band at one time. He was an avid outdoorsman throughout his life. Jim was a former parishioner of S.S. Joseph Paul Catholic Church of Owensboro and attended services at S.S. Peter Paul Catholic Church in Lexington. Funeral Information There will be a private family interment at Rose Hill Cemetery at a later date.
