Horst Schluetz
June 28th, 1922 - October 2nd, 2011
Horst Pop Schluetz, born in Berlin June 28, 1922 passed Oct. 2, 2011 surrounded by loving family. Drafted into the war right out of high school, Horst performed intercn intelligence with the Morse code. He escaped East Germany via Stuttgart where he made a living doing all kinds of creative jobs, many his own business ventures. He emigrated to Seattle in 1952, earning a business degree, becoming a CPA. He created sussful business enterprises while enjoying an active life with family and friends. He loved sitting on his deck in the sunshine, had a life-long quest for knowledge, music, parties, traveling the world, and teaching everyone how to make Manhattans. He is survived by his wife Jeanette; children, Beate (Michael), Michael (Linda), and Christine (Dennis); and sister Helga; and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. We will miss his humor, laugh, smile, conversations, advice, and how he always lent a helping hand.
