James "Ed" Edward Banks

Obituary James "Ed" Edward Banks, 85, of Lexington, Kentucky and the widower of Mildred Louise Banks, died Sunday, July 29, 2012. He was born August 6, 1926 in Lexington, Kentucky to the late Elmer Banks and Martha Sellers Banks Davis. He was a life long farmer, a WWII US Naval Veteran, retired employee of Kirk and Blum and member of Boones Creek Baptist Church. Ed is survived by his daughter, Holly (Ken) Grayson; sister, Mildred Short; brother, Gene Banks, all of Lexington, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Marcus (Jen) Schrader, Jon (Deirdre) Schrader and Ann Janel (Patrick) McClure; 8 great grandchildren; and dedicated friend, Linda Owens. In addition to his wife and parents, Ed was preceded in death by his daughter, Ann Schrader. Funeral Information Visitation will be 5-8pm, Wednesday, August 1 at Clark Legacy Center in Brannon Crossing. Funeral will be 10am, Thursday, August 2, also at Clark Legacy Center, followed by burial in Athens Boonesboro Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Jon Schrader, Marcus Schrader, John Edward Marshall, Rick Hisle, Alex Marshall Jr. and Patrick McClure. Honorary Casketbearers are Alex Marshall Sr., Rob McNees, Neil Edward Delap, Chris Delap, Ken Grayson and Ed's Mens Sunday School Class of Boones Creek Baptist Church.
