Mavis Wolf Jackson
June 14th, 1921 - November 9th, 2015
Lexington, Kentucky Mavis Wolfe Jackson of Lexington, Kentucky passed from this life, Monday, November 9, 2015. She was born in Morgan County, the daughter of the late Jonah B. and Nora Henry Wells. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Varney Wolf and Ralph C. Jackson. A graduate of Morgan County High School and Byrd's School of Cosmetology, Dayton, Ohio, she owned and operated the Mavis Ann Beauty Shoppe on Euclid Ave. for many years. She was also a real estate salesperson in Lexington. After retirement, she and Mr. Jackson enjoyed traveling to many parts of the world. She was an avid bridge player and faithful member of the Porter Memorial Baptist Church, which she loved and enjoyed so much. She is survived by one sister, Maxine Wells Jenkins and several nieces and nephews, and a host of beloved friends. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Melvin Wells, John Milford Wells, Woodroe Wells; two sisters, Mildred Lewis and Naomi Phipps. Funeral Information Visitation will be from 5-7 PM, Friday, November 13, 2015 with celebration of life to follow at 7 PM at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing. Rev. J.K. Pierce will be conducting the service.
