Frederick Fred Joseph Scheuerman a long-time resident of the Seattle area lost his battle with cancer on Wednesday evening, February 29, 2012 at his home in Edmonds. Fred was born on April 30, 1946 in Seattle, WA. He graduated from Shoreline High School in 1964. Fred started working for the family business, Sherman Optical at an early age as a clean-up boy for his grandfather John F. Scheuerman, owner and founder of the business. His father John W. Scheuerman continued the tradition opening up a total of five stores. Fred became a licensed Optician in 1972 and later moved his and only location to Lynnwood where Fred and later, son Mike would continue to own and operate Sherman Optical. Fred is remembered most for his love of camping, boating, spending time with his family and friends, and the joy he spent working with his long time loyal customers. His smile, laugh and caring ways will be remembered by many. Fred is survived by his wife Teri; sisters: Barbara, Terri, Patti and Kathy; his brother John; and son Mike; and daughters, Kim and Kay; as well as his three grandchildren Kaylin, Ashley and Chase.
