Elizabeth Liz Scherer, 89, of Shoreline died January 13, 2013 in Seattle. She was born November 18, 1923 on Brooklyn, New York to George and Bessie Walter.Liz was born and raised in Brooklyn and a graduate of Dominican Commercial High School. She worked for many years as an Assistant Registrar at Malloy Catholic College before moving to Florida in 1970. She was active with her husband in the VFW for over 55 years and the Florida State President of the VFW Ladies Auxillary in 1989-90. Liz and Herb moved to the Seattle area in 1999 to be close to all of her extended family. Liz was a tireless worker, always doing something for somebody and she was forever committed to her husband, Herb.She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Herbert, of Shoreline; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Eileen and Peter DAmelio of Seattle, Terry and Patrick Talese of Gig Harbor and San Diego; and 3 generations of loving nieces and nephews.
