Online Obituaries for Lexington, KY Ann Murphy, 81, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016. A native of Thomaston, Georgia, she was born November 2, 1935. Ann loved to be social. She was a member of the Lexington Womens Club and very active in the community throughout her entire life. While her children were young, she exercised the neighborhood open door policy, children always coming and going, which naturally extended into her later years. She couldnt resist the opportunity to share a smile and make a friend, her presence alone brightening even the darkest of rooms. In addition to her love for people, she enjoyed playing tennis, was an avid traveler, doing crossword puzzles, and cooking. She was an amazing cook. Ann is survived by her children, Carol Sither-Trapp, Lexington, Debra Murphy Fox, Lexington, Chuck Murphy, Lexington, and Mark Murphy, Lexington; grandchildren, Leslie (Kent) Shelton, NC, Michael (Cecilia) Sither, Lexington, Taylor Trapp, Lexington, Brandon Fox, Lexington, Trevor Fox, OH, Phillip Murphy, FL, Meghan Murphy, FL, and Nicole Murphy, Lexington; and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Lee Murphy. Funeral Information A Memorial Service will be held 7:00pm, January 2, 2017 at Destiny Community Church, 1801 Alexandria Drive, Ste 104, Lexington. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 5:00pm until the time of service.
