Jeffery Lynn Flick was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on February 13, 1956 and passed on July 3, 2014 in Seattle, WA. He graduated from Conemaugh Township High School in 1974 where he was co-valedictorian of his class. Jeff then attended and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA is 1978 with a degree in Civil Engineering. Eventually Jeff landed a Structural Engineering position with The Boeing Company in Seattle, WA where he and his wife settled. Through dedication and hard work, Jeff was able to achieve titles of DER (Designated Engineering Representative) for the FAA in a multitude of areas including structures and management. Jeffs goal in life was to one day work for himself and own a company. He created a Structural Engineering and Consulting firm called Flick Aviation Services, Inc. He worked with multiple aerospace companies in the region and all over the world. He was respected for his knowledge and integrity in the industry by all that knew him. But the most important achievement in his life was the birth of his daughter Emily Rose on March 28, 1998. From that moment on, his pride and joy was Emily. His passion for photography gained new importance as he documented every moment of her life and the family-shared experiences. Each moment now had even more significance. Jeff was involved in every aspect of Emilys life as he never missed her sor games or dance recitals and most recently attended each and every cheer leading event and competition. He was there for Emilys State Championship Cheer celebration at University of Washington recently even though he was undergoing treatment for his cancer. Jeff enjoyed life to the fullest. He was always smiling, and had an infectious positive outlook and love for life. Jeff was also a loving and doting father, son, brother and uncle. His daughter came first above all else. He came from a small and close-knit family in rural Pennsylvania. He and his mother were best friends. They shared a love of sports; especially basketball and baseball. There are no words to describe how much he meant to his family. He was a provider in good and bad times. He was nonjudgmental in advice and always had time to listen. Across the miles he kept in touch with his family with late night phone calls that went into the wee hours (he was never short on words). He took every opportunity to travel back east with his new family to visit and spend time with grandparents, sisters, cousins and friends. He loved to travel around the world and especially enjoyed the ocean and wine tasting. He was also an avid music and movie lover and had a fondness for philosophy and appreciation for the arts. Jeff is survived by his daughter Emily and her mother Sandi Flick, Jeffs mother Doris J. Gisbrecht (Flick) of Boswell, Pennsylvania; Jeffs father James H. and wife Julia Flick, of Lanham, Maryland; sisters Judy (Larry) Franke, Joni Flick, and Jeanie Folton, special friend of the family: Tina Mutich all of Boswell, Pennsylvania; nephews Gregory (Crystal, Madison) Abell of Boswell, Pennsylvania and Christopher (Laura) Abell of Cleveland, Ohio; nieces Jacqueline (Jeff, Presley) Ruskey; Kelsey Franke; Natalie Folton and Taylor Gontis all of Boswell, Pennsylvania. He is preceded in death by his sister Jennifer Flick.
