Online Obituaries for Lexington, Frankfort, and Versailles KY - Carl Scott Trimble, 65, Husband of Barbara Haasch Trimble, passed away February 16, 2015. He was born on March 28, 1949 in Mt. Sterling, KY to the late Gene and Naomi Chapel Trimble. Scott attended the Michigan School for the Blind where he met and dated his future wife Barbara Haasch. They were married in 1971. After high school Scott went on to attend Michigan State University. He graduated with a Masters Degree in International and Comparative Education and began working at the Kentucky Department of Education in 1973. He dedicated his professional life to improving the lives of all Kentucky students, leading the state through the Kentucky Education Reform Act and eventually becoming Associate Commissioner of Education for the State of Kentucky. He also served on the Kentucky Council for the Blind and is honored by the Kentucky Association of Assessment Coordinators naming their annual conference in his memory; The Scott Trimble Assessment Conference. Scott was an avid chess player and lover of travel, red wine, bluegrass music, and spending every moment he could with his granddaughter. He is survived by his son Alan (Atitaya) Trimble, Lexington; his sisters Leslie (Charles) Tate, Bridgeman, MI; Jerry (Andre) Walker, Lexington; his brother Steve (Pam) Trimble, Mt. Sterling; and his granddaughter Elise Trimble. Funeral Information Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday February 21, 2015 at Clark Legacy Center Versailles Road. A gathering of family and friends will be from 1:00pm until time of service.
