Our wonde mother, Marilyn Ann Brown, passed away suddenly and peacefully at the age of 78 on August, 25, 2014 at home in Edmonds, Washington.Marilyn was born on July 21, 1936 in Bremerton, Washington. She grew up in the Pacific Northwest residing in Tacoma and Seattle and graduated from Queen Anne High School. She then attended Washington College, which is now known as Washington State University. She met Theodore S. Brown in college during her first semester on a blind date. They married on September 8, 1957. Marilyn graduated in 1958 with a BA in Education. Marilyn and Ted began their life living in New Jersey, California, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Indiana before they settled in Shoreline, Washington in 1968.Marilyn is survived by her brother Sumner Bennett of California, and by her five children: Audrey Brown of Edmonds, Alison Eliason (John) of Issaquah, Ted Brown Jr. of Edmonds, Trace Brown (Denise Smith) of Shoreline, and Warren Brown (Kristie) of Shoreline. She loved having her kids so close by. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Lindsay and Lucas Eliason, Zack Smith and Sierra Brown, and Ian and Alex Brown.Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Ted Brown in 2012.Marilyn enjoyed teaching and was involved in the schools by teaching, assisting or volunteering until the spring 2014. She loved to play games, swim inside and outdoors, watch the Sounders play, attend her grandchildrens sporting events, band concerts and dance recitals. In the last few years, she enjoyed bible study, services and the fellowship of people at North Sound Church nearby her home in Edmonds.A Celebration of Life will be held at North Sound Church in Edmonds at 11AM on Monday, September 8.
