Edna Sifferman Lemeshko Edna (Sifferman) LEMESHKO, 94, with family at her side, died Sunday, June 18, 2017 following a brief illness. She was a resident of Edmonds, Washington. Edna Sifferman was born on May 18, 1923 in Seattle, Washington, the seventh child, of the eleven children, of Karl and Carrie Ohmer-Sifferman. She attended Holy Names Academy graduating from the High School in June of 1941 and in August, she married George Lemeshko at Saint Josephs Catholic Church on Capitol Hill. They made their home in West Seattle, becoming a part of Holy Rosary Parish there. While raising three children, Edna served as a Camp Fire Leader and a Den Mother and was involved in a great amount of volunteer work at Holy Rosary. In 1973, she attended North Seattle Community College graduating as a Licensed Practical Nurse and went to work at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle. Ednas husband George of thirty-nine years died in 1980. Retiring in 1989, Edna moved from Seattle to Everett (Saint Mary Magdalen Parish) and, in 2000, moved to Lynnwood, where she visited the homebound and ill parishioners of Holy Rosary Parish in Edmonds until 2012. Edna is survived by her sons: George (Colleen) and Michael (Deborah); four grandchildren Stephania, Courtney, Nicholas and Kathryn; five great grandchildren; by her brother Paul (Louise); and many nieces and nephews. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, George, and her beloved daughter, Jeanne Marie. A Rosary will be held at Becks Funeral Home (405 5 Ave S., Edmonds, WA 98020) on Monday, June 26 at 7:00 p.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (630 7 Ave N, Edmonds, WA) on Tuesday, June 27 at 11:00 am. An Inurnment for the family will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Seattle at a future date. Donations may be made in Ednas name to the Carrie Ohmer-Sifferman Scholarship Endowment at Holy Names Academy, 728 21st Ave E, Seattle, WA 98112 or to Holy Rosary Church, 760 Aloha Street, Edmonds, WA 98020.
