Frank M. Stutesman
January 8th, 1929 - December 26th, 2014
Frank M. Stutesman of Mill Creek, WA, died on Friday, December 26, after a long struggle with prostate cancer. He was first child born to Frank and Helen Stutesman, on January 8, 1929, in Columbus, OH. He was preceded in death by his dear wife Phyllis and his younger brother, James. He had no children. Growing up in South Bend, IN, he was a board member of Central Highs famous Barnstormers and worked summers at the Boy Scouts Camp Bryan. He obtained an amateur radio operators license at age 13 and graduated from Purdue University in 1952 with an electrical engineering degree. He was married to Eleanor Brademas from 1951 to 1956.Franks entire 35-year engineering career was spent with one company, first known as the Bendix Corporation, later as Allied Signal, and currently as Honeywell. His first assignment was in his hometown of South Bend (where he was known as Sandy), followed by significant engineering management assignments at the companys then major facility in Teterboro, NJ, and finally in Burbank, CA. In 1958 he met and married Phyllis Manning in NJ, where they designed and built their home in Upper Saddle River. He was an active participant in IEEE, AIAA, and NSIA, professional engineering societies. After retirement, Frank and Phyllis moved to the idyllic four-season community of Mill Creek, WA, 10 miles north of Seattle, in the Great Northwest!! After cremation, Franks ashes will be buried with other family members in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, IN, near South Bend.
