Kristina (Tina) Strausz passed away peacefully at her home on February 17, 2015, surrounded by her family, after a one-year battle with an aggressive brain cancer. She was 69 years old.Tina was born in Southern California and moved around extensively as a child as her father was an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. She always treasured the two years they lived in Paris, France when she was 10 years old. She went to college in Santa Barbara, California and then met and married Ken Strausz in Los Angeles where they worked as bank examiners. They moved to the Edmonds area in 1974 where they have lived and raised their two children.Tina was a musician and involved in several local community bands and theatre groups, playing both the clarinet and saxophone. Playing music was one of the highlights of her life. She also loved attending Broadway shows and musicals.She also loved traveling and was able to travel throughout much of the U.S. as well as overseas. She traveled extensively with her sister and also shared a special 6-week trip to Europe with her daughter in 1993. Tina and Ken also traveled back to Paris to locate her childhood military home, standing just as it had 40 years before. She also made many trips to New York City to visit her daughter and grandsons, and to spend lots of time in Central Park which she truly loved.She is survived by her loving husband, Ken Strausz of Edmonds; her son Todd Strausz of Everett; and her daughter Stephanie Strausz, son-in-law Ken Levy and sweet grandsons Liam and Logan of New York. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister.A celebration of life will be held at 1pm on Thursday, February 26th, at Edgewood Baptist Church, 20406 76 Ave W in Edmonds. Relatives and friends are welcome to the service and recn following. Announcement: In lieu of flowers, donations in Tinas memory can be made to Work Opportunities ( href=http://www.workopportunities.org/ www.workopportunities.org). They assist disabled individuals with job development, placement and coaching, and they found Todd the wonde job he has held for over 10 years which meant so much to Tina.
