Donn Roy Adrian
April 17th, 1929 - January 12th, 2016
Frankfort, KY Donn Roy Adrian, age 86 of Frankfort, Kentucky died Tuesday, January 12, 2016 after a brief battle with cancer. Born in West Pittston, PA to Roy and Ruth Adrian. Donn graduated West Pittston High School in 1947 and immediately enlisted in the United States Army. A 1949 Graduate of Officer Candidate School in Ft. Riley KS, he did two tours in Korea, one tour Vietnam and two tours in Europe and was awarded the Bronze Star before retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1969. Upon retirement, he moved his family to Frankfort, KY where he accepted a job with the Kentucky Department of Transportation. He retired a second time in 1998 from US Ecology in Louisville, KY. Donn is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joan Adrian, and his daughters, Donna Adrian Wildt (Jerry) of Frankfort, KY, Christine Adrian of Bagdad, KY, and Lynn Adrian of San Francisco, CA. Grandchildren Paul Wildt (Luciana Barbosa) of San Francisco, CA, Matthew Wildt (Leigh Nukols) of Lexington, KY, Eric Caudle (Nicole Webber) of Frankfort, KY, and Alex Hsing of San Francisco, CA and great-grandchildren Austin and Bailey Caudle of Frankfort, KY. Donn is also survived by his younger brother Barrie Adrian (Arlene) of Pittsburg, PA and his younger sister Mata Adrian Curran (Gary) of Palmerton, PA, and brother in-law, Frank Reinstine of Jacksonville, FL. Also surviving are Nephews Jon Reinstine, Frank Reinstine Jr., Shaun Adrian, Christopher Adrian, Patrick Curran and their families; as well as his maternal cousins Betsy Covalt Arnold (Bill) and family of Randolph, VT and Dodie Covalt Dunning of Mt. Morris, PA, and paternal cousin Sally Adrian Wilbur and family of Lancaster, PA. He was pre deceased by his parents and sister, Shirley Adrian Reinstine. Funeral Information A private family memorial service will be held at a later date through Clark Legacy Center in Frankfort, KY.
