He lived his whole life in the Edmonds South County area, attended Edmonds Schools and was graduated from the old Edmonds High School in 1957. Growing up he liked fishing, cars and mischief. He worked for Sterling Recreation Organization in bowling and video games as well as being part owner of Palladium Bowl in Seattle. In the mid 1990s Curt semi-retired and began driving school bus for the Edmonds School District, a job he thoroughly enjoyed for the next 16 years.Following graduation from high school, Curt married Sharon Garland and they had two sons: Kevin and Darin, both now living in Wasilla, Alaska. In 1969 Curt married Barney they completed their family with two more sons, Rudi and Russell, both of whom live in the South County area.Curt loved the outdoors and shared that love with his family. A raft trip down the Middle Fork of the Salmon River in the 80s was followed the next year by a trip down Rogue River in Oregon and when Curt returned home he owned his own white water rafting outfit. The next summer Curt took Barney along and they were hooked on rafting, spending parts of the next 20 summers on the rivers of central Idaho. During those years they shared trips with all fours sons and Curt earned his river guide license for the Middle Fork.
