Obituary Dr. Harry E. Moore, 84, of Lexington, husband of the late Martha Batsel Moore and a retired dentist at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, died Friday, September 24, 2010 at St. Joseph Hospice Care Center. He was born February 9, 1926, to the late Felix Tyree and Mary Ingram Moore in Pinson, Alabama, yet was raised in Corbin, Kentucky. He graduated from Corbin High School, served in the US Army from 1943-1945, attended Murray State University from 1945-1948 and then Dental School at the University of Louisville from 1948-1952. He was a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, National Honor Dental Society and Beta Delta Fraternity. Dr. Moore practiced as a family dentist in Owensboro, Kentucky from 1952-1972 before coming to the UK College of Dentistry where he served from 1970-1991. He was a member of the American Dental Association, the Kentucky Dental Association, Green River Dental Association, Bluegrass Dental Association and the All-American Club at Kentucky Wesleyan College. He was appointed to the Kentucky Board of Dentistry where he served many years and was instrumental in bringing Delta Dental to Kentucky where he served on their Board of Directors. He is survived by his three daughters, Jane Moore, Louisville; Sarah Moore, Lancaster; Mary (Eddie) Yohon, Lexington; his son, Rick (Connie) Moore, Lexington; five grandchildren, Zach and Madeline Yohon, Leah, Rebecca and Matthew Moore; and two brothers, Wallace (Doris) Moore, Charlottesville, VA; and Dick (Pat) Moore, Denver, CO. In addition to his wife of 50 years and his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Moore. Funeral Information A Memorial Service will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at First United Methodist Church, Lexington, Kentucky, conducted by Dr. Billy Ray Jennings. Burial will be 2:30 pm, Wednesday, September 29 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
