Shirley Ann (Larkin) Brock (1935-2017)Shirley was born in Kennewick, WA on March 12, 1935 to Sidney Nelson and Glenna Kinkaid. Her mother remarried Shirleys dad Roy Larkin in 1942. With this marriage, Shirley gained a new brother, Don, and sister, Dorothy. Shirley grew up with her Grandma K while her mother taught school. Shirley attended Central Washington College of Education (now Central Washington University), earning her Bachelor of Arts degree. She taught first grade at Echo Lake Elementary School. Shirley married Jack Brock in 1957. They reared their four children in Edmonds, WA. Shirley enjoyed gardening and gardens, family, neighbors, Kauai, her P.E.O. sisters and music. Shirley went to her Garden of Weedin on January 23, 2017 following a three year journey with Multiple Myeloma. She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Jack; children John (wife Janet), Brian (late husband Craig), Katy (husband Phil) and Robin (husband Tom); grandchildren: Leah, Kate, Sarah, Jack, Brock, Jenna, and Thomas; great grandchildren Myles, Rowan, and Avery. Per Shirleys wishes, there will be a private family celebration/service. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to her favorite charity: P.E.O. (a Philanthropic Educational Organization that helps women through educational scholarships and grants). Gifts in celebration of Shirleys life may be made to P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter GL, 7325 176 St. SW, Edmonds, WA 98026 or your favorite charity. Announcement: In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to her favorite charity: P.E.O.
