Leo Norman Kepler
July 3rd, 1916 - January 29th, 2017
Lucky Leo was born in New Mexico, the oldest child of Matilda and Norman Kepler. He was raised in Portland, Oregon which is where he met and married the love of his life, Ruth Fitzpatrick. They were married for 64 years, until Ruth passed away in 2006.Settling in Edmonds, they built a home on Lake Ballinger where they raised their 5 children. He retired after working 35 years as a salesman for Appleton Electric Co.Leo lived a very active life. He and Ruthie danced their way around the world on cruise ships for many years. He was a basketball referee and played in several Softball World Series tournaments for seniors. He was an avid fisherman, where no trout was safe if Leo was on the water. Leos claim to fame was that he was one of the people who named the Seattle Seahawks. He carried his plaque from the Seahawks organization with him as a badge of honor.Leo turned 100 years old on July 3, 2016 surrounded by friends and family. It was a very special celebration to honor a very special man.Leo will now be reunited with Ruthie and their beautiful daughter Colleen Ann. He is survived by his sons Mike and Jim (Barbara), daughters Shannon (Lorrin) and Maureen (Randall), 3 grandsons and 8 great grandchildren.A Funeral will be held Friday February 10 2017 at 11:00 AM at Saint Pius X Catholic Church, 22209 58 Ave. W., Mountlake Terrace, WA.The family would like to thank Leos son-in-law Randall, who played countless games of cribbage with him; to Jennifer and the wonde caregivers at Blueberry Gardens in Bothell for all the love and companionship they gave Leo and a heartfelt thank you to Leos buddy Dave Lynch - the best friend a guy could ever have.Although he will be deeply missed he will be forever in our hearts. Were gonna miss you Pop.
