Marion quietly slipped away on her last journey to rejoin her beloved, on September 20, 2017. Marion was born on December 21, 1918 in Chicago, Illinois to Paul C Fagan and Olive Huey Fagan and joined an older sister Margaret, all who have preceded her in death. In 1929, the family left Chicago returning to Seattle, Washington where her parents had lived prior to their marriage. Marion attended grade school, Monroe Junior High School, graduating from Ballard High School in 1936 and then University of Washington. She met her beloved husband Mylo Charlston in 1941, where they both worked for the Seattle P.I., and married on April 10, 1943, when Mylo received his first leave home from the U.S. Army in W.W.II. They celebrated their 70 years of marriage on April 10, 2013. After the War, Mylo returned to his construction business, Charlston Construction, Inc., and together with Mylo building, and Marion taking care of office details, they built homes, apartments, and commercial buildings in North Seattle and South Snohomish areas. They found time to travel throughout the U.S., Alaska, and Hawaii; cruised on the “Love Boats,” and they both loved salmon fishing with friends. Marion loved all the homes that Mylo built for her, enjoyed gardening, and especially sewing for children and friends. They were residents of Edmonds, Washington from 1958 until her death. Mylo and Marion were both the last members of their immediate families and at Marion’s request there will be no service held but any remembrance would be greatly appreciated for the care of all God’s stray animals who always found a place in her heart.
