William Grant Mason
January 26th, 1930 - January 25th, 2018
Lexington- William Grant Mason, 87, husband of Glenna Mason, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018, at Thomson-Hood Veterans Center. He was born in Wallins, Kentucky, on January 26, 1930 to the late David Luster Mason and Marda Taylor Mason. Mr. Mason was retired from the United States Army having served for 33 years and retiring as a Sergeant Major. He served in both the Korean War and Vietnam War. Mr. Mason was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Radcliff, Kentucky, and was very active in the Republican Party and National Right to Life Committee. In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by his children: David Mason, TX; Scott Mason, Lexington; Stuart (Toni) Mason, OR; Marda (Scott) Craig, VA; and Tim Mason, Lexington; his grandchildren Amanda (Timothy) Silva, Kristen (Christopher) Cazis, Sam Mason, Katherine Craig, Lauren Mason, Elizabeth Craig, Rebekah Mason, and Mya Mason; his great grandchildren: Reagan Silva and Kensington Cazis; and his sisters: Grace Ann Tolliver, Lexington; and Yvonne (Wayne) Mullins, IN. He was preceded in death by his brother John Mason, and his sisters Della King and Lucy Patrick. Funeral service will be 12:30 PM Thursday, February 1, 2018, at Bible Baptist Church 156 Shelby Avenue, Radcliff, Kentucky. Rev. Stuart Mason and Rev. Noah Broughton will officiate. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday, February 1, from 10:30 AM until the time of the service.
