Cheryl Jane Skinner
June 3rd, 1943 - September 3rd, 2016
Cheryl Jane Skinner, 73, passed away on September 3rd at her home in Edmonds, Washington after her long fight with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Cheryl was born in Harvey, Illinois to Jane and George Strassenberg on June 3rd, 1943. She graduated from Charter Oak High School in Covina, California in 1961. The night of her graduation, Delbert Del Skinner proposed and they were married on April 6, 1962. They were married for 54 loving years. Her working career included being a real estate agent for Windermere Real Estate, Alpac Corporation and a special education assistant in Shoreline School District. She was actively involved in church and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She taught childrens ministries (Pioneer Girls) for years in Arizona, as well as adult bible studies. She was part of Christian Womens Club in Mill Creek, Washington. She was very talented in singing, was a member of the church choir throughout the years and was a featured soloist. Many of her hobbies include, gardening, boating and motorcycling. Memberships include: Christian Motorcyclists Association, Goldwing Road Riders Association, Solid Rock Cruisers Car Club, Queen City Yacht Club, Bethany Bible Church Phoenix, AZ, Westgate Chapel Edmonds, WA and Evergreen Community Church, Bothell, WA. Cheryl is survived by her loving husband, Del Skinner, children Caren Kunda, (Gordon), Julie Whittles (Jay) and Jonathan Jon Skinner (Jen), brothers George Strassenberg (Donna) and Mark Strassenberg (Tammy), sister Audrey Chitry (Don), grandchildren Cherolyn, Valerie, Jennifer, Janelle, Taylor, Earl and Kinleigh, and great grandchildren Hailey, Carson, Aiden, Brody and Macy. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Del Skinner to help to cover the expense of funeral and memorial costs.Memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 24 at 1:00PM at Evergreen Community Church 3429 240 St SE Bothell, WA 98021 The family of Cheryl wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Kevin McCarty, Evergreen Hospice Team and Evergreen Community Church.
